Twynn Phynzer - Super Charged

Some of you are familiar with the Twynn-Phynzer...

Here is the 2011 model.

Here is a slightly wider tail with the 'super-charger' channel.

Putting in an eliptical channel helps water flow and lift thru turns.

Here is a straight-on view.

Beautiful.

Going to glasser soon.

Happy Valentines Day all.

This was short, but sweet.
I have a movie date with my wife.
... and kids ...
at home:)

Featured Future Grom

This is Connor. He is one cool kid.

I had the pleasure and privilege of making this board for him for Christmas.
He's had a couple of new boards but says "this one is the best, for sure!"

At first, Connor came across as shy and quiet, but with a huge smile

After spending 30 minutes with him I realized that this kid has REAL heart!

After another 30 minutes, I could see a funny kid with  a soul surfer in the making!

This is a 5'7 x 17 1/8  x 2 JV Grom Diamond Tail.

I'm looking forward to some action shots!

Keep an eye on this kid!!

Coming soon....

and blowing the top of mush-burgers at a beach near you.

Connor, go in God's speed and pull off a Mc-Twist:)

Happy Saturday everyone.

USS VanBergen

We're Back!!
We're bigger...better ...and hopefullly, more diligent
:)

Here's a project that I started at the end of November for my friend Kyle VanBergen, who is also our graphic designer.

He wanted a touring stand-up board which is something I have only thought about but never had an opportunity to put to work.

Beginning: A 10'6",  2 lb EPS SUP blank for wave-riding.

sooooo.....

here's the challenge....

... to modify, create and re-create!!

 Blank

After templating using the outside whale ribs, they were cut and clamped together.

This view shows how thick the added foam was.

After clamping, they were shaped to fit front third rocker to remove the rocker and create a flat entry.
Following me?

The clamping and gluing rough cut version.

Rough templated and no mo rocker.

Cleaned up and roughed in.

Front Deck.
(not showing all bottom secrets. yet:)

The whole outline.

First Bottom Lamination.

Good overview of bottom.
Dark spot is not a shadow but will be explained later.

To Be Continued.

Happy First Post of 2011.
