Hoyte Designs representing at Haiti Fundraiser

On Friday night, we had the amazing privilege of being part of a fundraiser (silent and live auction) that our friends Jez and Lynzi Blacker put together to raise funds to rebuild a hospital in Haiti.

We donated two longboards both with resin artwork with 100% of the proceeds going to the non-profit.

Set in the Santa Ynez valley, Central California.
Tables set in a mowed pasture strung with lights.
A dance floor and live rock band.
Incredible food and drink.
...and to top it off.
A lightening storm that moved around the valley all night.
Surreal and gorgeous!

We are so proud of our friends who did an amazing job putting this together and who are still doing incredible work for Haiti.

... and for the family that won the auction on both boards.... enjoy!!

Hoyte Designs Twynzer for Orlo

This was a fun, but challenging board!

Let me explain...

Blank: EPS = open celled foam which needs to be sealed and then sanded back before the glassing to prevent blowing air.

Now add a concave, curve channel which, even on 'clears', is hard to get even and bubble-less.

If seen up close, one can see a near flawless cut lap on the deck from the bottom lamination.

No pinline required here.

The challenging part was keeping the tint even over a porous surface and to tape of the lams without pulling foam beads out.

Final product = near perfection.

Orlo is stoked! :)
